§ 13-67. Construction Specifications.

    The following construction specifications are required for the installation of a self-service island:
    (1) 
    Each island must have its own separate lighting.
    (2) 
    Each individual gas pump must have an automatic overflow shutoff valve.
    (3) 
    Every self-service gas pump must be controlled from a central control panel within a building on the premises.
    (4) 
    A masonry structured building of minimum size, eight feet by 10 feet, must be on the premises which provides the self-service pump in accordance with the following:
    (a) 
    A window minimum size, four feet by six feet must be placed in said building so as to provide the attendant on duty a full, clear, unobstructed view of every self-service pump on the premises.
    (b) 
    The attendant's observation cubicle must be provided with fire extinguishers adequate to put out small oil or gasoline fires.
    (c) 
    The building and islands must be conspicuously posted with "No Smoking or Open Flame Permitted" signs.
    (5) 
    No overhead power lines are permitted above the self-service island.
    (6) 
    No vehicles may be parked at the self-service island or in the attendant's line of sight from the observation cubicle to the self-service pump.
    (7) 
    No trash or paper waste canisters will be permitted in, on or around any self-service island.
    (8) 
    A full-time attendant must be on duty during the business operation hours of the self-service islands. Said attendant must operate the central control panel within the building.
